more daft questions

Please could somebody just explain how the ski/boots/bindings thing works, I have no idea of sizes or fits and just don't feel comfortable not knowing what's happening.

So, any good describers out there let me know, what's a good fit on a boot? what size ski's right? what the blazes is binding? and why would you need a screwdriver? (phillips or flathead btw?!)

I know I won't worry about this when I'm there but I'm curious and don't understand!

re: more daft questions

Firstly, when you hire gear you will be fitted out for boots. Once you have theses they will ask for one back and the boot is used to set the bindings (which are attached to your skis) to your boot size. The binding is designed to grip the boot and will hold you firm inside your boots whilst skiing.
If at any time you fall heavily, the binding is designed to release the ski from your boot to help prevent you from suffering any injury. They are also designed to stop the ski from travelling ...

If at any time you fall heavily, the binding is designed to release the ski from your boot to help prevent you from suffering any injury. They are also designed to stop the ski from travelling too far from you as they have 2 prongs that dig into the snow once the binding has been sprung.

To put you ski back on you just press hard on the ski with your foot and the binding will snap back into place.

If it sounds complicated it really isn't....... all will become very obvious once you try them on.
