Sorry if this is long, but I hope it helps a few newbies.Just got back from spending xmas week in Pamps, stayed at the Hotel Pamporovo.Trip from airport took 90 mins in the dark arrived at hotel just after midnight, the check in seemed very fast until we were told we had a 2 bedroomed suite instead of 2 rooms, never mind we thought, got there and it was 1 enormous room with 2 pull out chairs, back to reception to find numerous families in the same boat. After a lot of shouting and 1 night in the room we got 2 rooms, not ajoining as requested, but a floor apart. Some families never got what they wanted. The Thompson rep Kat and the Crystal rep Tessa were great . Kat even stipped all the beds in the rooms to get us in quicker.
We carried on having problems with no plugs in the sink, shower not attached to wall, no remote for tv in the end we gave up asking.
The restaurant did get full, but the food was ok, it was warm enough and there was a microwave if needed, it was typical buffet food we have had the same in many countries, cold meat, cheese, salad, soup cakes, chips, spaghetti, fish fingers, 3 hot meat choices.
Xmas meal, shephards salad, stuffed vine leaves and mash, TURKEY! and veg, baclava.
Lots of hench men roaming the hotel(maybe the mafia were there).
Atmosphere in hotel is great just a shame it is managed by an idiot, most of the receptionists were nice, but even they were fed up of all the problems.
You have to be up early and on the coach by 9.30am, if the coach is full there is in 3 mins.
first morning at ski depot chaotic, but after that great, instrutor Yanko was the best, patient and caring.Lack of snow meant the green run was icy, but we all learned how to ski, were in a fantastic group and had a fantastic time. The scenery is much nicer than the more expensive ski countries and we could not spend the money we had taken.GO TO BULGARIA. The holiday will stay with you for ever, just stay at a different hotel.Orlovets and Murgavets seemed nice.Take soft toilet paper, a sink plug and a travel kettle. If you do stay at the Pamps you need a swimming hat, men too.my son boarded and he recommends his instructor Meme, he ended upin an ambulance at the doctors, they never even charged us.
BEST HOLIDAY EVER.
Sorry tp hear of your disappointment with the Hotel. My family and friends have stayed there many times and always found it to be good, but then we have missed the last 2 years-so maybe things are slipping?
Pamps is the No'1 place to ski and night life is good too! hopefully the beer is still cheap? Lots of happy hours-I remember too well.
We are coming 3rd Feb-I hope there is a little more snow by then.
just reading these comments... we've just booked a week at the end of Feb/early March to Hotel Perelik in Pampovoro so we're hoping it wont be a dissappointment. We got a v cheap deal on crystalski.co.uk so we're not expecting high standards, Just hope the snow is good by then
any other tips from anyone? has anyone any experence in The Perelik?
We are going back to the Perelik for the third time in Feb. We have looked at the other hotels in the resort and this one is our preference. The rooms are a little on the small side but hey, we only use them to sleep shower and change in, the rest of the facilities the hotel offers and its position in the centre far outweigh the room size. My daughter must be the world's fussiest eater but has always managed to eat a hearty meal and it has always been warm......look out for the ice cream ...

The Perelik might be a 3 star hotel but in my opinion it is trying hard to be a 4 star and much better than any 3 star ski hotels I have stayed in, in France, Austria or Italy. The staff are very friendly, receptionists and porters very helpful and there is always something to do. I certainly recommend the massages, very good after a hard days skiing.
Hope this helps?
Karen (who is hoping that the snow improves for everyone)
this hotel is attached the four star mourgavets hotel. it is not as nice as hotel pamps but it is good enough as when you go skiing you don't spend much time in the hotel. the pistes conditions will be amazing then and you will have the time of your life guaranteed
Just come back from Pamps Perelik, Very enjoyable indeed, only one small complaint with the hotel, and that is the noise from the night clubs, but apart from that you will have a wonderful time.
