Can someone shed some light on the quality of ski hire equipment in Borovets. I am boarding and my missus is skiing, we will both be hiring equipment. It is her first time but i have boarded a coulple of times before (but def. no expert). I read in a few threads that the equipment was really ancient, i mean will i be able bindings to my liking etc (i once got given ski boot style boots to board in the first time i went, i hated them!) Is it a first come first serve policy and if so does all ...

Is it a first come first serve policy and if so does all the decent swag go out straight away, also does all this depend on which hire shop we have to go to? If it helps i'm in the Rila first week of March and am going through Neilsons.

Pete,I have been to Borovets several times now - not really had any problems with skiis etc. if you get a good instructor and there are any problems he will sort them - I have had them sharpened and waxed.
I am out there 1st week in March with my wife and daughter.

who is your tour operator?if inghams you are laughing, all new salomon kit. (skis/boots)
if thomsons/crystal, kit is as old as the hills, and well past it. we ended up buying boots in resort as the hire ones were killing us. Don't do it buy boots which will fit properly at home.
if staying at the samokov new kit for this year, (skis/boots)
