Many can argue their love for the resorts in BG. Ours is Pamporovo but others i am sure will soon be on to tell you otherwise. Pamporovo had very good snow last season whhere others suffered a little.

That saying Bansko have more runs and with a higher altitude a better snow record than most.

I think if you use the search button also on here then you could do your own research and base your decisions on what you actually wan of a holiday as a whole. Wink

Bansko is the largest ski run 38km not great for Experts but good for intermediate and FANTASTIC for beginners.
The accommodation is pretty good all pending on budget. Visit Kempski and Guinness Hotel and you wont be disappointed, however the food has a long way to go before it reaches the french standards.
Hope this helps!

Hi eggmanfoo and welcome to BulgariaSki.

You will find a wealth of information on here as well as some great banter. With regards to which resort, I agree with Arron that people will have different opinions on all the resorts. They are all fun and they all accomodate for beginners with some of the best instructors in Europe.

Hi eggmanfoo and welcome to BulgariaSki.

All resorts have suffered over the past couple of years with lack of snow, and this has been shared with most of Europe. However, this is the exception and not the norm, and having been there for 17 years we have always had a fantastic time.

I have skied all 3 main resorts and they all have a different charm. Bansko is without doubt the best for runs, however the only real access up the mountain is by Gondela which can at times suffer from lenghty queues. Borovets can also suffer from the same if the lower runs are devoide of quality snow. Pamporovo is limited for experienced skiers but great for beginners. Within a couple of days you can be skiing from the top of the mountain to the very bottom all on easy runs.

My own personal favourite is Pamporovo for many reasons, and many of those are not skiing linked. I find it the most friendly and laid back resort with some really good nightlife in and around the resort.

Whichever you plump for I'm sure you will fall in love with the place and have a wonderful time.

Most on here return to Bulgaria year after year - lets hope it's the same for you.

ENJOY BULGARIA

Of course I agree with the above pips, I choose which resort by the skiing level of the friends I am going with. ie Pamps is ideal place for learners and its a good giggle at night so for a group maybe out for there first ski trip its perfect. but if your a good level skier you will find the runs a bit tame.
After last years "operation hidden fridges with doors wide open". I have decided to leave the fridges hidden and have planned the door opening ceremony for late November these will run ...

After last years "operation hidden fridges with doors wide open". I have decided to leave the fridges hidden and have planned the door opening ceremony for late November these will run on level 5 untill 2nd week in March so we should be on for good snow again in Pamps. (That's only because I have forgotten where I have put them.) So if you see an extention cable exposed on a run, just kick some snow over it and pack it down a bit. there's a good chap
many thanks
