Hi husband myself and 2 kids, 7 & 9, have booked to go to Pamps over new year and are thinking of staying at Hotel Markony. Does anyone know of this hotel? I believe it has a ski school should we book this before we arrive or when we get there. How should we do this? Will the children be in the same skischool? Also any tips on what to take.
Thanks (A novice who is very excited!)
take it you havent been skiing before? if not I would book the learn to ski packs they work out cheaper and do it before you go, the kids should be in the same ski school at their ages.
what to take
1) ski jacket and trousers
2) goggles and sun glasses (although if your a bigginer goggles are easier to keep on)
3) hat and gloves
4) at least three pairs of good ski socks
5) clothing that you can layer e.g. t shirts and fleeces you will get hot and best if you can remove layers and put ...

6) sunscreen you will need it
7) lip balm (especially for the kids will lick there lips if its cold) toliet roll (in bulgeria always seems to be difficult to get hold of and realy hard)
9) small plastic bags too put money and bits in your pocket stops them getting wet
10) some leves for the first day
11) something for the kids to do if they cant ski due to weather.
Right at the slopes - great apres ski bar and a meeting place for many of the instructors.
Just one word of warning - dont let your kids touch the Black dog Sherry in the Markony. She is OK if you leave her alone but she will bite if you try to stroke her.
That is really helpful thanks, good advice about the dog as my kids love them and they would approach him. Would the ski school be near the Markony? Is there only one or different ones?
Try Peter Todorov downstairs at Interski. Can do equipment, lessons and you can stay together as a family. Get your lift passes through your tour operator.
Thats pretty much what we did this year and will be doing again in 2008.
what ever you do dont take a bell until the last day, especially a free one and then barter like mad!
this will make sense on your first day skiing.
we learned at pamps 2 years ago and are now hooked. Have a wonderful time, you will laugh a lot!
Keep reading here and you will pick up all you need to know
Dont change money in the street and definitely try the hot choc with Brandy and the pancake stand!
Luflo - as PP says for your lessons contact Pete Todorov ar www. inerskipamporovo.com they will see you and your family okay to do with everting skiing - as for the Markony - you will love it everyone meets there its fantastic. As Pete says don't touch the dog just let her in or out of the door if shes sitting there waiting.
Have a great time
