We have already been to Bansko twice so can only agree with you. We haven't skied anywhere else and, as virgin skiers at the age of 45, chose Bansko as our first skiing experience. We were in Bansko in January so got to check out the new lift system and pistes We have no desire to try anywhere else as yet.
Excellent sounds like you are hooked on the 'Ban-tastic' place in the South West of Bulgaria.
We will be trying a different restort next season, in Bulgaria, has we felt that Bansko did not offer a step from the nursery slopes to more fuller green slopes.
We found the transition fairly easy. The skiband from the top gondola station down to Bansko was brilliant to practice on. Although I don't think this is officially classed as any colour piste, i thought it was excellent for confidence gaining at the beginning of the week. The plateau on todorka, although it looks scarey and steep is actually dead easy to get back up from when you have fallen down! The other plus this year was that I skied for a full week and never had to touch a T-bar lift ...

The other plus this year was that I skied for a full week and never had to touch a T-bar lift once!!! (Don't ask - very bad experience with one!)
