hi guys new to the forum i used to go to borovets many years ago around 1993 went 4 years running and had private lessons with a guy called nick in those 4 years he had longish hair awesome instructor and a real nice guy just wondered if he is still around borovets he realy looked after us there was a about 4 guys who run a private ski lesson firm any ideas guys they had just got into snow mobile machines the last time i went and nicks brother had a bar just down the road who was (i think an ex olympic skiier)??

haha thats great he may not remember me i used to go with my family i was only 14 then we bonded with him realy well he was going to come over to us during the summer monthes for work here but it never happened in the end, there was four of us and we used him for lessons everytime we went nick angelov that sounds familar i have some photos of him in the reception of the rila we used to have a hot choclate at the end of the day he seemed to have alot of pull there i.e we never seemed to que for lifts etc etc i cant remember the other guys names he used to teach with bobby rings a bell too i may pay another visit in feb to borovets relive the good old days be real nice to catch up with him he would definately remember my mom and dad by name and me after i show him the photos lol? relay appreciate your reply kas

hi kas ive just spoke to my dad and its definately niki angelov were talking about small world his brother had a bar down the road and he was some sort of ex olympic skiier he said the name bobby rings a bell to did he used to teach with nick? i remember one of the instructers there was 3 all together who used to teach with nick he used to smoke marlboro lights and he had been to england before i think they called him bobby but not 100% nick used to have lada i think and he took us to a restaurant in a town somewhere near by he drove like a nuttah from memory it was either a small fish restaurant or had a big fish on the wall or in a tank somewhere he always seems to have nice ladys with him be lovely to see him again..

Yes Christo still has the bar. Bobby (as in my husband) didn't work with him, but the most common names in Borovets are Niki, Bobby, Chris and George so it's likely that there was a Bobby with him!!!

Bobby said one of the guys Niki worked with was called Simon (Moni) but he is in England now and has for a few years. Not sure if you knew but Niki is now married and has a son who Bobby thinks is about 10 years old - I've never met him, so I'm just typing this up on Bobby's behalf!!

i will keep in touch ive been looking on the web for rila dates 15th-22nd of january so i will let you know when i book up all of those names ring a bell especialy moni small world ay my dad reckons he still has letters somewhere niki posted to us if bobby bumps into him my mom and dads name is graham and lynda my name is jonathon and my brothers name is daniel we have some photos of him i will bring them over he will remember us but the pics if not by name take care and hopefully see you both soon oh and there was also a bar that did burgers called big macs opposite rila on the slope somewhere i think a local guy owned it and was married to an english lady who did babysitting in the hotel sometimes hope those burgers are still going because i might not come if they arnt
