Hi

I just knew you were going into 'ours' - I was walking backwards up the path telling everyone. (They weren't that interested as they tried to tow the cases through teh snow). We had a fab week - yes the cabin was boiling downstairs, but when we first got there it was -20 for the first two days, so upstairs was freezing! Never mind, we wore thermals and the had the blankets on the beds. In fact my little one slept in her fleece! We never went to breakfast as we took loads of food ...

We never went to breakfast as we took loads of food with us and stuffed it all in the fridge, but we did go to evening meals. It was usually busy in there between 6.30 and 7.00. We just went over to the mexican in the malina residence for our drinks. It was really quiet but the kids met some friends and the staff were really nice.

Hey, did they leave my kettle in the cabin, or did the cleaners pinch it Mad Very Happy After my rushed packing, I couldn't fit it in on the way home (don't know how that worked!)

I'm glad you had a good time, we loved the place. Did you like the igloo out front? It was there when we arrived and the kids played in it everday!

Mexican in the Malina Residence?
Never stumbled across that and have been 3 times!
used the Irish Bar there, bottle of local beer with the price on from the supermarket at 1.20, charged to us at 6.00!
Did not go there again, mainly stayed in the malina Restaurant for drinkies.
Star1, I think you arrived as we left, I held the door to the restaurant open for a group with a little girl in a pushchair (wrapped in pink).

Simon - where's the Irish Bar in the Residence?! The 'Mexican' is what the Crystal Rep called it. It's basically the bar to the right hand side of reception and serves food - some of which could be tenuously called Mexican (I think they did Chilli)!!

I couldn't cope with Boney M in the restaurant for long after the little man finished singing!

re: no.5 meggyntom

Its to the right of the entrance on the corner with a few metal tables ouside.
Sounds like it could be the same place but was an "Irish" bar last year!

That's the one. Our rep called it 'the mexican' when we had our first morning meeting, so the mexican it was! Like I say, wasn't very mexican at all, but then it wasn't very Irish either! It also said Karaoke every night outside on a board, but when we asked about it, they told us we could turn the microphone on any time we wanted. But there wasn't any music or words to sing from! Added to this the chef was quite often left on his own to serve drinks. His English wasn't too good so a ...

re: no.5 meggyntom

We too took over the mic, but most nights there was only us and one other lot in!
Mind you the waiters and waitresses also joined in doing traditional dancing and music one evening, great night.

re: no.5 meggyntom

Hmmm I knew they'd nick our kettle. It was a nice shiny white cordless one which I brought from the UK knowing about the tin pot thing. The answer is, I didn't cook anything on it, everything we brought was of the 'cold' or 'just add boiling water' variety. Simon, obviously we didn't stay in the restuarant long enough to see you lot singing Surprised did see the waitress singing one night - it was us who were videoing her! That was the night we thought we'd copy what you were doing - ordering ...

That was the night we thought we'd copy what you were doing - ordering a la carte. That was an experience, starters and mains all came at once. When we asked them to keep the main courses warm while we ate the starters.... you guessed. It came back cold. We got them to warm it up though.
