Can we set it up so anytime Benson and Hornster post anything with the words "snow" or "forecast" in them it auto-deletes the post? That should do the trick.
Nah, this year will be great, there's nothing you can do to scare it off this time.
"scare it off"? Not a chance, we want and enjoy the snow just as much, if not more, than anyone else. But, you are right in that this season will be great - compared to last season at least.
No doubt Beavis and Butthead will be at it again this year.
There will be that many predictations ( based upon models off course) and so many variants to cover previous predictions if they go pear shaped.
Last year predictions and thats all they were irrespective of whatever models were totally up the left.
My advice, dont get caught up in it, because at the end of the day 90% + of people have they holiday already booked and nothing on this board will change the snow ...

This is not a personal attack on Beavis and Butthead, but last year it caused great upset and turmoil to a lot of first time skiers fretting about cancelling holidays etc.
predicting is all fun, thats why you can never trust the weather fotcasts on tv,how often do they get it right?i still think there is a vast amount of snow due early next week
I certainly would check a weather forecast if i was going to the caribbean incase the recent hurricane, or the impending hurricane is not going to be there when i arrive. I cancelled one such holiday and just as well i did because hurricane Mitch flattened the island at the time i was supposed to be going !

Tad unfair those comments donkey.

As for snow forecasts. Hornsters, Bennson and maybe one others were based on educated, calculated data and these were quite accurate, Most if not all of the web sites (e.g snow-forecast.com) use 'what it should be' or 'it was like this last 2 years' data and make a guess on what should be happening.
So dont blame Benson and Hornster...blame the people searching the web for 20 different web sites giving 20 different forecasts. They are the people panicking because of the randon data they read and not the accurate ones by B&H
Fair enough points mark, im saying no more on the subject except for this.
I can remember a woman ( first time skier ) who claimed herself to be in tears last year because of the panic caused on this board due to weather forecasting reports. One in the morning and the other in the afternoon. She had got herself in such a state that she was cancelling her holiday for herself and young family.
To cut a long story short a few posters ( myself included) tried to reassure her. She went had ...

Now everyone is entitled to view whatever reports they want, however last year,( and i have been on this board for a good few years) moreso than many others, In my opinion it went over the top.
Just my opinion, no offence to anyone. Thats the last i will say on it this year. But the point i made earlier, never ever on any of my skiing holidays ( 12 ) have predictions made one iota of difference to the conditions in the resort, and experience has taught me not to worry about these forecasts.
I just hope it dumps like crazy and potential panic/worry and stress is absent for all bulgariaski posters
hey DW--nice to see you back.....not biting this year, just letting facts speak for themselves, just like last year...like you said tho, all entitled to opinions, and it sure ain't gonna affect what nature does...just trying to give a heads up...roll on summer
DW, I hear what you are saying and take it on board.
What has absolutely amazed me is how, when and why anyone who reads mine and Benson's forecasts can in anyway translate it into whether or not they should book, cancel or change their ski holiday to Bulgaria. At no stage have I or Benson ever advised, suggested or instructed anyone to do that based on our forecasts. We are merely relaying what the various weather models and data are saying at the time. We are all well aware that the weather can do amazing things and can therefore also do whatever it wants and whenever it wants which is also why even the likes of Michael Fish can get it wrong.
The only advice, suggestion, comments, implication, recommendation etc etc regarding mine and Bensons's weather forecasts that I will state is that for anyone reading our forecasts to please NOT in anyway translate it that we are trying to sway your holiday decisions. If I were able to do that then believe me I would keep telling everyone on this board that the weather is terrible and there is going to be no snow when they want to go just so that I could get all of Bansko to myself and be the only person skiing fresh tracks every morning - how amazing would that be hey?
Happy sliding everyone, and for the record, this ski season is going to be way better than the non-starter of last season. I think that everyone can agree that the poor snow conditions of last season were truly terrible - especially if it was your first foray into the amazing world of winter sports.
