non skier

A friend is addicted to skiing - I wouldnt mind going along but being a miserable s*d don't want to ski. Dont mind walking - even in hills and on snow - but skiing doesnt appeal. (Mind you neither did motorbiking and guess what) So.. if we went to Bansko for example - are there places to walk - quiet spots - accessble spots away from it all for the day (or part therov) to pass some time. I do have a thing about setting up amateur radio stations in high spots - now THATS fun..so i dont mind ...

Hi Carl

I was in Bansko this year and there were many people walking up and down the 7km ski road which runs between the top and bottom of the gondola, dogs, kids the lot. At the top of the gondola there is a complex of bars and restuarants for some refreshment after you've walked up.

Hi Carl,

I went to Bansko in March. My mum and Dad came with me but didn't ski and they enjoyed it so much they're coming again with me in the New Year. There's plenty of bars and walks you can go on. Also, you might find when you're out there you might want to get yourself a lift pass because there's plenty of entertainment up on the slopes. You don't need to ski to have a lift pass!

Have fun,

Jo Very Happy

re: non skier

Last year one of our group gave up skiing after two days becuase she didn't like being pushed too quickly by the instructor. But had quite a good time relaxing in the hotel, walking, swimming, sauna, and meeting the rest of us for lunch and apre-ski.

Thinking about it, the more non-skiers fill the hotels the more room on the slopes for the rest of us!! Very Happy

re: non skier

How about opportunities for snow-shoeing. Now that is something that has always appealed...?
