one man chairlift

Alas the single chairlift from the side of the Rila to sitnyakovska will not be working this season.
No chance for my cousin to lose the battery cover off his camera.......
No chance for my mate to discover "I'm not keen on heights"..............
No chance of seventeen minutes peace and quiet on the way up.........
No chance to enjoy the scenic beauty from that side of the mountain....
And more importantly, no chance to do that REALLY steep red I've been psyching myself up to for two ...

Instead on the four man lift you get...............................

Every chance that your friends will leap out of the chair early and send you six feet into the air.......................................................................................
Every chance of getting tied up with your mates ski's and poles in an amusing "kerplunk" style at the top of the lift............................................
Every chance that a couple of the girls will dare you to take on a slope that liquidises the guts..................................................................................
Every chance that while lighting someones cigarette you drop your gloves......
Every chance that you will meet some ski snob telling you how "quaint" Bulgaria is..............................................................................................................

if this lift is turned into a four man chair, please Mr Bulgariaski, can you make them put one single chair on it for old times sake.........I'm prepared to wait for it to go round
Very Happy Very Happy

re: one man chairlift

Hi Chiro,
That happened back in January to my cousin and I. Two of the girls said "oh you two shouldn't be on the blue runs anymore, come with us"..........The problem when you're in a group, is nobody wants to be the wimp. Bearing in mind this was 1st day of our holiday. It was also only the second time skiing ( I displaced my knee first time out at the top of Yastrebets...ouch !!). Anyhoo, they talked us into it, and we set off down the red run. At one point I looked across at my cousin ...

Anyhoo, they talked us into it, and we set off down the red run. At one point I looked across at my cousin who was on the higher side of the piste, when he found a really steep bit. He literally disappeared !!!!!!. I don't know how far he dropped, all I heard was a high pitched WWWWWWWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA as he went.........I laughed so much I thought I was going to have to call mountain rescue again. Very Happy

re: one man chairlift

Hi Phil

I think I have found out where you are going wrong.
It sounds to me that you hadn't had enough chocolate brandies inside you!

Part 1 of the novices guide to red runs states that you should drink until your knees stop knocking together, thus allowing you to ski/ tumble without any fear on red runs.
Now go and be a good boy and read up on all the bits you missed
Booze Booze Booze Very Happy
