re: packing...............

Its cold! but dont worry you do so much work you will be sweating!!!
daily wear varies with the individual, but a base line of a thermal vest, fleece and ski jacket do me. how many do you take? well being a woman you probably want a change everyday if your anything like my mrs!
seriously, you will get plenty of advice on here, but dont overpack cos you can allways buy when there if necessary. Change of clothes for each evening if your going out of course!

re: packing...............

Remember to keep within the airlines weight limit for your baggage. My friends and I had to pay Brittania £80 for excess baggage charges!!
We really didn't have a great deal of stuff either Very Happy

re: packing...............

Claire,

No need to overpack as mentioned before. I wear my jacket over there so it doesn't take up space - also useful if you have a bus with a less efficient heating system on the transfer (idea to keep gloves etc.... for kids as well perhaps - ours were glad of them last year). As Ian says above usually a thermal vest / ski shirt and fleece under the jacket are sufficient, maybe an extra fleece in reserve.

Some peope like to wear thermal leggings but I don't find it that cold. As you will be doing a lot of moving around the clothing shouldn't restrict you and the movement itself will keep you warm.

Layers is the 'secret', better to have two thin layers than one thick; firstly it traps more air, which is what provides the insulation and secondly you can peel it off, put it on to suit how you're feeling. I find a small backpack useful for storing unwanted layers (and anything else my wife and kids can think of to stuff in there). Camera also gets nicely protected when wrapped in a spare fleece in a backpack and then doesn't break your ribs when you go for 'burton'.

Don't forget hats / glasses / goggles. Hats for warmth and glasses or goggles for the sunshine - which reflects back up off the snow. Lipsalve and depending on weather small tube of suncream for cheekbones etc.... is also useful.

Have a great time, Bill
