Generally a good standard throughout, but the main problem with this hotel over the years has been the problems with over-booking. Many guests have been moved elsewhere and I for one do not think this is accidental. Certain tour companies have been over selling this hotel then moving guests to other hotel rooms within the resort that they have failed to sell.
If you want may advice - go for the Murgavets or the Orlovetz.
after 5 years working for thomson in the hotel , i will agree with pete, the main issue in the hotel was overbooking, last winter was not so bad. What i would experience is every sat i would check the rooms for the new arrivals and everything would be fine, during the transfer the hotel would cancel my rooms and move them elsewhere to keep the private paying guests happy and bump the tour operators. Stayed there last year and had read a few bad reviews before we went but when we got there we thought it was really nice and didn't have any problems at all.
The food maybe wasn't the best I've ever tasted but it was edible and it's cheap enough to eat out if you decide you don't like it. We did one night just to get out and went to the Bulgarian resturaunt in town and the meal was fantastic and there was a mad man walking on hot coals to watch too!

All in all thought the hotel was great. So much so we're going back this season!
Stayed there last year. The hotel is nice, clean, in a quiet location. My only advice is take some ear plugs for dinner, as they had a singer wailing away most nights and she was pretty awful. Either that or get to dinner early before she comes on.
Fully agree with Graham, could'nt really fault the place, as we all know Bulgarian hotel food accross the board is pretty much the same, its edible and they do their best, but i'll give the hotel 8 out of 10, and would 100% go back there.
