pamporovo

cant understand why the smoylan lakes run is not open when there is so much snow cover, it was the same last year and the snow cover was incredible.

re: pamporovo

Last year when we were in pamps locals told me that several trees has fallen, that's why they couldnt open smolyan lakes. But seems that they closed it permanently... Exclamation Exclamation

I do hope it is open we return to pamps on the 2nd feb and its one of the families favorite runs as its normally quiet.

Can anyone who is out there now confirm its open or closed?

re: pamporovo

It was open when I was there last year and well prepared too. Love the run, quite, decent length but stunning too. Think most don't know it's there.

Shame they don't have it open all the time when conditions allow, really adds something to Pamporovo in my view so they should make the effort.

re: pamporovo

I agree, it's my fave run out there and given its one of the longest I don't know why they don't make more effort to keep it open all the time. Given the foot of snow the had overnight surely there is enough cover on the mountain? It still says it shut though on the website, can anyone out there confirm if it is definitely shut? If it is perhaps we can start a petition to get it open!

re: pamporovo

I've often took the risk and boarded it when I can see the lakes 1 man chair running. Although you do stand the risk of the chair closing and having a long arduous trek back to the top. Also if ungroomed you stand he risk of rocks etc.

re: pamporovo

The ladies euro cup was here this week and some of the runs werent groomed. I got stuck on black 3. it was full of moguls and when I fell over I was knee deep in snow. I survived but it was hairy. They only groomed it yesterday.
