places to eat in Borovets

Does anyone know some really good restaurants in borovets?- preferably serving bulgarian food rather that the touristy stuff.

Jess try and get a taxi to take you to the town Samokov only about 5 -10 minutes away, settle a price before you get in the taxi. there are some great restaurants in the town one is called the old school house i think but your ski instructor will guide you on the best ones. In the resort there is one called Green king serving local dishes and used it last year and found it to be very good.

I like the crown and the black cat myself. Having said that I only visited one resteraunt that I wouldn't return to. That one had a name with a referance to chicken being golden. Having said that the rest of my ski group enjoyed it in there, I guess it was just my choice of meal.
The crown is right on the Rila slope, they use to have sledges for the kids to play on while you sit and relax

katy's restaurant is good. also the green king and venice/la bomba at the bottom of the Rila slopes

I would agree with davedon. the golden chicken should definitely be avoided.

In Samokov (10mins taxi from Borovets) try Starata Kushta (the old house) or Kockoshkova Kushta (the Hen House). They are top class restaurants. The price will be cheaper than most places in Boro and the quality 100 times better
