looking to book for 2014... anyone know best way to book but flying to plovdiv... going to pamps.. would consider booking independently.. eg flights. hotel. ski package.. transfers etc.. or is it cheapest to book with Balkan maybe to get get free kids place etc.. 2 adults and 2 kids aged 11 and 9
We always booked via Balkan but hated the transfer from Sofia, after they stopped flying into plovdiv. However last year we booked flights through Ryanair direct into plovdiv and booked hotel via Balkan in order to get cheap ski packages and it was so much better that we have done the same this year. Flights go on sale around June/July time. Hope this helps.
We have booked for 2014 with thomson. 3 adults £427 in shezhanka. Flights are to Plovdiv so less transfer time. You can book snowboard/ski packs from £129 and they have free child places.
I depends a lot on the dates you are travelling on. We booked with thomson for the past two yrs going out in january and their package was the cheapest option for us both times. However this yr we are back out at the end of february and having looked at neilson balkan crystal thomson and travelrepublic we found it cheapest to book it independently with bulgaria air from heathrow and then booked the hotel via hotels.com... All i can say is shop around it is worth it we are saving 500£ two ppl ...

All i can say is shop around it is worth it we are saving 500£ two ppl by booking it independently cause we go out in feb however it is still going to be £200 more expensive than the january trip when u add up costs and things like leaving from a less convenient airport etc. Which adds fuel costs and parking money and so on...
