After 3 years skiing in Bulgaria ( Boro and Bansko were fantastic, Pamps was - according to us -the least of the three), we want to try Poiana Brasov in Romania.
We want to go to the Alpin Hotel.
Who has already skied in Poiana? Is it interesting?
What's the Alpin Hotel like?
Gertie me and other half went last year, limited snow leaving only one slope open whole week so cant give a good account of slopes didnt see enough. the city was only a short bus or taxi ride, plenty of bars and eating places, seemed freindly enough on the two visits we went on. night life not as good as Borovets but most hotels are all inclusive and beer and food on a par with Bulgaria. i would say i am glad i went just a shame about the snow conditions, hope this helps any other info just ...

Don't do it. go back to bansko. In my opinion anyway, had a great time there budget skiing but at that time I hadn't been to BG. Lift are mostly t bars and the only black is under the pylons for the gondola, good fun but lots of big concrete ski stoppers, it is the best Romania has to offer though. Hey you might like the place, I did until I realised what I got for the same money in Bansko. We stayed at the Alpin and the Sport, of the two not much in it except for the location, and for that ...

Food in the hotels is ........................................ different, and as Forest Gump said '' thats all I have to say about that''SB
He Gertie!!!

Tanny is saying,
Hi Gertie,
I went shopping in Gent today and bought a new pair of shoes and a handbag. However, the same handbag in Bansko is much cheaper and you can get great shoes in Borovets.
You can see me wearing the shoes on the SKIDVD site where I am a member.
Speak to you later.
or e-mail me on Tanjette@gmail.com and I will give you more information on the shoes.
Gertie, take your money to Bulgaria. We went to Poiana Brasov in January, and just our opinion, weren't impressed. Not much nightlife, no real choice for restaurants/cafes, and very limited skiing. I'm glad we went, so we can compare, and believe me, it doesn't.
