Hello
Going to borovets at the weekend. What with phones and cameras etc it would be handy if we could recharge them - does bulgaria use the standard european two pin sockets?
Also practically first time skiing/boarding so a bit green.....what do you wear under the sallopettes? Would thin tracky bottoms do? And under the jacket do you need a jumper or will a long sleeve t-shirt do? I did go boarding for a weekend years ago and don't really remember much about the clothing as a borrowed it all, though i do remember being hot a lot.....i am a bit concerned as i have just bought a posh jacket (cheap in tk maxx!) which seems really warm. When i went boarding before in california i seem to remember people practically wearing just a jumper on top, but maye it is colder/windier in bulgaria....
Under sallopettes nothing would be fine well underpants of course, but you should not need tracksuit bottoms> When I was in Pamps last Jan it was -20 and my legs did not get cold. Feetd did though!!!
Under jacket if it is windproof you should be fine with just a jumper or a t shirt but try both if you are worried about getting cold. Remember you can always take layers of if you get to hot.
I may be a lightweight but I put thermals on under my sallpettes. Like Dan said you can always take them off if you want to. Really it depends on how cold it is.
i just had leggings under my boarding trousers and Oh had thermals
then on top half justa tshirt and then jacket but depends on you as to how hot or cold you are, start of with more and take off as needed

I was there last week and for the first few days did not need thermals but after that it was quite cold - so best take some just in case, as for the top always had a thermal and a long sleeved t-shirt over it.
We were also there last week and like Gill says for the first two days it was warm. After that when the snow started I was freezing, couldn't feel my toes and fingers. We wore thermals under our sallopettes and then under our jackets a thermal tee shirt and microfleece. Brrrrrr
Hi
I boarded last year, first time, in Austria and agree with the whole layering-up thing! Its hot while learning but soon get cold if u stop for a rest/lunch. Might i suggest a good pair of gloves as u spend the first few days pushing yourself up off the floor! Also be careful of your wrists as i did the common thing of breaking one of mine! (have wrist supports this time!)
Im off to Borovets this saturday and am so excited!
apparently the apres ski is good too! YAY!
Sam
thanks for the replies - i'll take stuff with me and try it out. I have only got cheapy gloves, so might try and get some better ones tomorrow, not that i think for a moment i will be spending a large amount of time on my hands (yeah right ).
