I have a friend in Sofia who has never skiid and wants to meet us for a couple of days in jan to try it out... was wondering how much a days equipment hire would be and a lift pass (possibly for 2 days also).
Any info or rough guidelines based on last years prices would be greatly appreciated.
If your friend has never skied before, I cant see him enjoying himself, as it will take him the day to learn how to snow plow.
It will also ruin your day as you cant just leave him snow plowing on the nursery slope, whilst you go off skiing.
Personally I would recommend that your friend join you for the week and enjoy beginners classes. At least by the end of the week he will be able to join you on some of the blue slopes.
You can get good deals from tour operators on ski passes Sam. my sons was £90 last season and that was an adult pass as he was 13. Last year in resort they were 283Lv only went up 3Lv on previous season but you did get insurance included in that . Lift passes are expensive here for the Km's you get.
Season pass was great last season as they reduced it by half on previous year, now that was value for money for those who live here or work here for the season.
We are eagerly awaiting for the ...

He may not ski, hasn't decided yet so i think you're right, joining a beginner group may be the way forward, but if he doesn't he wants to come up the mountain and get some photos so will need at least a 1 day pass (i'm certainly not gonna tell him not to bother coming to see us!!)... I can't believe he's lived only a few hours away from a ski resort all his life and never skiid!!
yeah, my lift pass this year was £84 for 6 days through my tour op, equates to about 160lv ...
Thanks all,
