protective equipment

one of my party has wisely decided that he would like to snowboard in borovets with the correct protective equipment. he would like to know whether he can hire a helmet at the resort or if he can buy a good quality helmet there at a cheaper price than here. if anyone can give me the price of a specific helmet i can check it out on t'interweb. also, does anyone know if R.E.D wrist supports can be bought at the resort and what the price of those are compared to back here.
the end.

re: protective equipment

Stuff is generally cheaper out there.

Wrist guards are highly recommended.

You can get DaKine ones on ebay for £12 + postage. Well worth the money.

Try www.decathlon.co.uk
They sell helmets at about £15, may be cheaper in their sales.

re: protective equipment

Personally I do not wear wrist guards, I tried them and it felt as if they would do more damage than good, I tend to try and roll when I wipe out and never put my hands down to ease my fall, especially when I fall backwards. I peice of equipment I swear by, and comes in especially useful for learners are impact shorts (no.. these are not for impressing ladies in the clubs) They offer protectoin for the Coccyx (tail bone) which always takes a beating when you are learning. Can't recommend ...

Can't recommend them enough. Definately makes the learning experiance less painful Very Happy
Ebay have many types, I paid around £35 for mine, they are like padded cycling shorts. RED have some as do Dainese.

re: protective equipment

personally, i have all the kit a girl will ever need so i know how important protection is. my feeling is that the dakine wrist supports are pants, i've found the RED ones to be best - they are plenty supportive enough without limiting mobility, they're £20. does anyone out there know how much, for example, a RED trace helmet would be in borovets? i'll check out decathlon. ta.

re: protective equipment

360, i own such a lovely pair of impact shorts, as does my boyfriend. i think he looks ever so hunky in them. i think they're great too. they have literally saved my ass loads of times (my favourite way of falling off a rail is right on my arse!) don't know what makes you think i'm a learner tho... i'm fricking nails me!!
