Hi All,

I did do a report earlier - which was correct at the time- however the conditions at the top of the mountain have taken a turn for the worse, hence the 'updated update!' Hi All,

I did do a report earlier - which was correct at the time- however the conditions at the top of the mountain have taken a turn for the worse, hence the 'updated update!' At the top of the mountain it is very windy and misty - and impossible to see the slopes from the gondola. For this reason they have closed the Markudjik slopes in the last 5 minutes and also the nursery as well. it has just started snowing up there (lightly) and no idea if they will keep the gondola open to the top or if it will get too windy. Skiing down to yastrebets is fine and when you get half way down, it is clear blue skies - totally different to the top.

Will try and keep you posted.

re: BORO 'UPDATED' UPDATE - 4TH FEB - MARKUDJIK SLOPES CLOSED

Kas,

Thanks for the update. We (4 adults and 2 kids) are coming to Borovets for the first time on Saturday. Not quite sure who is more excited...me or the kids.
I have been told by the travel agent that travellers cheques are difficult to change and that a lot of the time the ATMs dont work. Do we need to bring pound notes or is it a load of rubbish. What is the cost of living like it the bars and restaurants?

Jules

re: BORO 'UPDATED' UPDATE - 4TH FEB - MARKUDJIK SLOPES CLOSED

Hi Jules,

ATM's tend to work all the time - very rarely are they out of action and there are 6 in Boro. if for any reason all 6 weren't working (although can't imagine it) there are a couple of banks (Flora and Rila) and you can just take money out from showing your card. I personally wouldn't bother with loads of cash or travellers cheques.
