re is bansko still a building site ?

there was a posting a couple of days ago and somebody replied it is worse than last year.
I have just been there for two days and there is nowhere near as much building going on .There is still some, but very few lorries.The road down to Simitli, I think that is the name, has improved loads, only maybe 3 bad bits now, the rest is new.
I drove to Sofia in 2 hours from 800 metres from the Gondala.without the bulgarian sport of speeding !!!

Thats good to hear, I was in Bansko in Feb and the apartment we were staying in was in the middle of a bulding site, but it didn't detract from the holiday.Next Feb there are seven of us going five of which are first-timers.
My only fear is that the slopes won't be able to cope with the increased capacity of the town, especially as we are having to go during half-term.
But looking forward to the skiing, the food and a few cheap Bulgarian beers.

i skied all last year, including the holidays, march was best as it was empty, and the best snow. a fluke i think.but try to go up early . 08.30 that is the official start, but if you if a pass 08.00 is possible. near 09.00 the schools go up and it is crazy. they will agree to meet you up there though.
