just got back from 6 days in boro and had an amazing time again! snow was not perfect conditions was a little icy in places everywhere but to be honest it just made me a better skier by the end of the week! we where lucky with the snow it had a dump just before we arrived on the 25th so almost everywhere was open and even the closed runs where skiable!

if you are just about to go out there don't worry too much as there is a good base on the rila and the yestrebets so you will have no problem skiing! the markujic slopes where in good condition too the blue was busy and the black was skiable but there where rocks showing never done the reds this time...
the place needs more snow but its fine at the moment and the night skiing is great as the slopes get pisted before it opens!
food and ale just as cheap as last year and as always the nightlife was great!
we used hunters for the ski package and they sorted the transfers out etc... i didn't get on well with my first 2 pairs of ski's but they changed them no questions asked!
on the first day they where short of instructors so they got us a borosport instructor to come and take the 2 beginners in our group... we paid more to ski with hunters so wasn't pleased that they had a borosport instructor! he was rubbish! never gave any tuition just stood there smoking... he turned up the next morning then disappeared leaving the lads waiting for him! hunters did sack him that morning tho!
never been with borosport as i have heard people say how bad they can be and he was a joke!
luckily we had bobby as our instructor he ended up teaching the beginners in our group and had one of them doing the blacks! he is a top instructor and we enjoyed skiing with him!
We ate out in all different places and there was too many to mention but mamacitas, the green king for bulgarian food, blue where really good in the resort but we went to target again in samakov nice food and half the price of boro so recommend there! its 90 pence for a pint bottle of becks and about 50 pence for a 50ml vodka!!! defo give this place a visit...
for breakfast or lunch get into the white house at the top of the gondola its got great food, nice atmosphere and its cheaper than the other bars up there! hot rakia is amazing and met quite a few people off the forum in there! we also done the first lock in on the tuesday last week good laugh with the head torches and after a few rakia was a bit wobbly on my ski's ha ha!
all things considered had a great holiday... these people who come on here and moan about the place must just like to moan!!! you really cannot dislike borovets its great value for money and the skiing is superb... gutted to be home CANT WAIT to go back!
a few people took pictures of us all just before we set off after the lock in would like a copy if your reading could you email me the pictures??? thanks!
Nice report Ryan- pleased you enjoyed it- i can say i share your thoughts on Borosports instructors! And their equipment is poor too!
we couldnt do the lock in as no snow on the pathway a couple of weeks ago- perhaps next year!
I am one of the beginners that Ryan was talking about; my first day with the Borosport instructor was a total nightmare. On day two the tool didn’t even turn up, i was ready to lose the plot before Bobby from hunters took me out for a few hours one on one. I was up and skiing (ok) in no time, I can strongly recommend Bobby as an instructor, he explains, demonstrates and then talks you through what you are doing wrong before showing you how to put it right.

The resort offers great skiing, quality food in most of the places i visited, lively nightlife for those partiers and amazing facilities ensuring you get to the slops with no delay. Overall i totally enjoyed my stay and will be back for sure in March 2011. (its that good)
I have found a lot of Borosport instructors use two words frequently
"follow me!"- even if you dont know how to follow them
(there are of course some good ones!)
Hi Ryan,
Great report and like you we are in love with the place for all the reasons you say, hitting the nail rayt on the head there matey!
We have been 5 times now and have had 2 Borosport instructors who were superb to say the least, Tseko (as the watch!lol) and Ivan (the hunter) both who were superb both as instructors and ensured we had a great time.
I have still got the holiday blues but may try somewhere elase next year!
