Up very early this morning, had to wait for the restaurant to open for breakfast...
Jumped on the shuttle (good old Perun) and got to the gondolar, actually the second person up the mountain, took the long chair as high as i could, the top t bars and button closed initially but no matter, the pisteaurs had been hard at work and everthing was groomed to perfection, blasted down red/blue to the middle station, it was weird, no one around, back to the top, again no one, superb ...
Hi all...
Up very early this morning, had to wait for the restaurant to open for breakfast...
Jumped on the shuttle (good old Perun) and got to the gondolar, actually the second person up the mountain, took the long chair as high as i could, the top t bars and button closed initially but no matter, the pisteaurs had been hard at work and everthing was groomed to perfection, blasted down red/blue to the middle station, it was weird, no one around, back to the top, again no one, superb !!!!!
The piste i will admit was very hard, not quite ice but very firm indeed. As the morning passed it softened up and from my point of view was perfect. Blazing sunshine all day (got burnt), the lower runs getting quite slushy but still managed to ski all the way down the ski road.
I have absolutely no complaints, my legs feel they have run three marathons and i am left with a raging thirst (strange?). I must confess to knocking it on the head about 3pm, not because of the conditions, just the condition of my legs, it was becoming more difficult to carve a turn in the end, they just held out to get down the ski road. There is so much snow on the mountain that todays heatwave seemed to have little or no effect, i accept that if it continues it is going to get a bit messy but from what i can see that is a while off yet....
Been invited to the ski service staff party tonight, starts at midnight, don`t think i will be up quite so early tomorrow..
I don`t know darlin, must admit to feeling very rough on Sunday although i still went out at about 9 pm for a couple, i did manage to get a couple of hours sleep before i went out though. Today i have felt great apart from my leg muscles at the end of skiing, managed again to get a couple of hours shut eye. Its 6.15 pm now, just going to head down to the Happy End for a snifter before dinner, then i may doze for an hour or so and then go out, see, pacing myself....
hello darlin.hello steve c. i ams enjoying doing the readings of your holiday. the weather here has gone a bit gloomy agains steve c. i could not eat an ice lolly in the garden todays as my teeth would chitter chatter. what is a snifter. do you have a cold steve c. bye bye steve c keep up the readings and i will read them.
Glad to hear that too. I was in Vitosha today, warm I thought, but actually over 1800 meters it was below 0 and felt quite cold towards the top. Still a lot of snow, although the slopes were a bit icy and not very easy.
To Bansko tomorrow!!!
