rila hotel borovets

Hiya,

I have recently booked to stay at the rila from 16th to 21st Feb (skiing 17th to 20th). I seem to remember that the rila hotel has its own place to get skis. AmiI correct in thinking this or have I misunderstood? If so where would recommend I get our ski package from?

We have loads of snow here in London now and I am very frustrated not to have some skis to go out with. Plenty of hills and snow but no skis so I am even more excited nope about coming to borovets!

Thank you

re: rila hotel borovets

Hi Alice,

I've not stayed in the Rila but pretty sure it does have an affiliated/in house ski hire place. No doubt someone will let me know if I am wrong.

If you are looking for an alternative then I can really recommend Hunters. We've used them the last 2 years, using them again in March and been 100% pleased.

The Rila does have its own ski depot, the kit you get there is very well used as most tour operators use this depot, there are loads of hire depots throughout the resort so you will have no problem at all. I can agree with Hunters as there kit is of a good standard, there boots (the important bit for comfort) are also of a good standard. You can book the package through Hunters website.

re: rila hotel borovets

Hi there

I stayed in the Rila over Christmas and hired all my stuff through Borosports (who Rila use). I can say hand on heart that my boots were very comfortable and by the end of teh week I wasn't even undoing them to walk around the resort (looking for good snow!) There stuff is as good as anyones, but that is just my own personal opinion. Ive booked to stay at the Rila again in March this year and ill be hiring my skis from ther (now have my own boots).

re: rila hotel borovets

Hiya,

Ok still haven't booked ski package and we are coming out to Borovets a week tomorrow. I have googled Borosports with no luck. We are staying at the Rila so it makes sense to hire skis etc from there.

Can anyone help me find website to book?

Thank you,

Alice

re: rila hotel borovets

Hi Alice

This website has links to book packages, also available through Balkan / Hunters / google / tour operator

My own experience of Borosport (main ski pack provider in resort - with depots in Rila / opposite / at Gondola etc), is excellent and they happy to upgrade/service etc, if asked nicely

Hope you get it all sorted (and have a ball), Danny

Try Borosport bg.com, I've used them for last 5 years. As of last year they had all new kit, incl, ski's and boots, we've always been happy with equipment and they have a ski depot under the Rila hotel.

re:rila hotel borovets

hilly's right, borosport did change all their kit last season so now your only skiing on 10- 20 year old skis ! But thats about the same as anywhere you hire so you might as well have them local to where your staying.i'm told hunters have great skis (dont know for sure) but who wants to trek halfway across the village to pick them up everyday when you have a virtual ski -in, ski-out hotel.my advise would be to get them hot waxed straight away.i think they charge 10 lev. steve.g
