going to boro in march we have been three times before can you all send me realistic posts on prices of meals beer and taxi costs. i am finding it hard to believe some of the posts about costs this year. having been three times before it sounds like this could be my last year. if the posts about rip off boro are true i think it would be a real shame its a lovely resort and would be a shame to give up on it, however if it is all true i think we will all be skiing in france italy or even the ...

I was in Borovets 12th -19th Jan this year staying at the Rila. Kamenitza in the Rila was 5 levs for a large (which wasn't large!)One of our favourite bars was Blue - large beer was 2.90 levs. The average we paid was about 3 - 4 levs for a large Kamenitza in the town.
On the mountain - 8 levs for a chocoalte brandy. The most rediculous pricing we saw was 10 levs for a mars bar!
Can't comment on food prices - we were happy with the food at the Rila.

Rick, if you have been to Boro before stick with it. Prices have gone up but that is global. There are loads of bars and restaurants as you know and the trick is to shop around. Prices at the top of the gondola have gone up a lot but they are passing on the price rises in BG from last year. Food prices went up 40% in BG last year. We were there in January and going back in April such is the attraction of this growing resort. Before you "jump" to France or Austria etc, research their ...
Rick, if you have been to Boro before stick with it. Prices have gone up but that is global. There are loads of bars and restaurants as you know and the trick is to shop around. Prices at the top of the gondola have gone up a lot but they are passing on the price rises in BG from last year. Food prices went up 40% in BG last year. I think you'll find Boro still has the VFM factor (value for money).

since joining the eu prices have gone up all over bg, just plan ahead, buy your marsbars in the supermarkets, carry a bottle of water or flask with you, as long as you avoid the pee takers you will definatley still get value for moneyre: rip off boro
Go to the Alpina bar and visit Aimee and Aree.happy hour in there was 1 leva a lg beer and only 1.80 all other times..

About the prices going up well yes they have but if your carefull there are still some good drinks deals,black tiger 2 for 1 so 2 bottles of grolsh for £1.80 don't think thats bad,2 bloody mary's for £2.50 1 would cost you £5 over here,yes there are places that will rip you off,just read the meneu before you enter...
I had a great week of eating and drinking with friends every night of the week,ate in hotel 4 evenings and still only spend £225 if that was spain or greece then i could have doubled it and if it was France or Austria then tripple it when a small beer on the slopes is £4.75...
I rest my case...
