Generally we use the Happy End at the end of the ski road by the Gondola for a quickie at the end of the day.

The building work people mention is mainly on the other side of the river from the old town and to be honest isnt a problem. Its mostly apart/hotels down there and unless its where your staying you have no need to wander round there.
The main drag for restaurants etc is a continuation of the main road from the Gondola back towards the town centre. Down there you will find allsorts of bars and traditional restaurants.
On the slopes we like the Goat restaurant up the mountain. Good selection of food again well priced, especially when you consider the view offered.
Its a good place, you will enjoy it, try and get into the town and have a look around.
