re: safety on the piste

Never ever heard of this in over 20 years of visiting Bulgaria.

There seems so much of 'somebody told me' and 'I heard that' and 'is it true that' without any substance or facts to back up these wild reports.

Bulgarian people are very very friendly and they will not harm or worry you.

Of that you have my guarantee Wink

Just relax and look forward to your holiday - you will love it!

Suprised you never mentioned ' wishfull thinking' as well there pete. Seriously though, we've been going to bulgaria for the last four years, both bansko and pamps, and we've never had any bad experiences yet. Just great times in a great place with great people, and long may it reign.I suppose i better mention that my sister did break her leg a couple of years ago in pamps wich was not such a good experience, but im pretty sure that would be crap in France too!

been going to borovets with the family and freinds for 3 years never heard of anyone being harrased by the locals i should imagine if they where looking for some action they could always ask the ladies of the night in the rila bar but if they are locals they are more than lickley to be members of the local mafia they should already know where the action is . just enjoy yourself its a great place

re: safety on the piste

Last christmas in Borovets we were walking down the hill from the Rila and the girls were dragging behind as usual. Some children came up begging holding up cups for money. The girls told them no and the children started kicking the girls and they got quite scared as there was about 6 of them.
Apart from that incident we had no issues and the local were fantastic, we have booked for Feb this year.
