I usually wear track suit bottoms myself, but long jones are fine. infact anything thats soft and wont rub. Major warning though dont wear jewans or by day two youll be walking like john wayne.

Last time I was in Pamp, it was so warm I was wearing a pair of shorts under my salopettes!

Hiya Rick,

Always best to have a pair of thermals with you just in case, but as others have said, most days it is not necessary to where anything other than normal underwear. Worth investing in a couple pair of GOOD thermal socks rather than the cheap ones that cost a couple of quid. Keep you feet warm and dry and the rest of you will be fine.

re: salopettes

I managed to get away with just my undies under salopettes last year - it does get warm and don't forget, you've got extra warm trousers on. I spent a lot of time either on my bum falling down in the snow or just sat around when the rest of the class was doing reds and I was still struggling on the greens and at no time did I get cold.

Get the technical socks rather than tubes, if nothing else, they are so much more comfortable.

re: salopettes

i can vouch for the good socks, we bought the cheap tube type and got cold feet a couple of times last week & the temp was not that cold
Also I wore thermal long johns under salopettes not for the warmth factor but for sweat absorption , without them the moisture built up on the inner of the trousers & that really felt cold when you stopped or on the lifts
