samakov trip

hi all we are staying in the rila 3rd time this year (15 jan) what i was wondering what is it like to travel out of town a bit perhaps samakov what asr the taxis fare like and are there resturants suitable and is it safe to leave the resort we have two children 14 and 12 a lot of questions but would be greatful for any info thanks

Bl***y hell its a european country not america, course its safe out of resort.
Youll pay about 10lev for the taxi unless they see you coming, agree the fee before you leave, the restaurants are cheaper and the bars and the off licenses. Try the chinese, (there is only one) or if you can get in (go mid week) the 'old house' local food (boar steaks etc) cheap as chips. Everywhere is kiddy friendly, keep the kids away from the disco on friday night though!!

I was staying at the Hotel Niko in Samokov two months ago on a business trip.
Excellent quality and very reasonable.
