re: security in the rila hotel

Hi shakes,

It's all down to commen sense.... In the Rila hotel there are small safes for rent at the reception which I would advise to use for any valuables. The reason is not being the hotel being unsafe but..... some of the balcony doors donot close properly and you should not give anybody the oportunity to take anything from your room.

We've been to the Rila 5 times before, going agian next Saturday, and never had any trouble what-so-ever. However must admit that during those times ...

We've been to the Rila 5 times before, going agian next Saturday, and never had any trouble what-so-ever. However must admit that during those times some people claimed to have had stuff stolen from their rooms. They aboviously couldn't be bothered to spend a few lev's to hire a safe.

Don't worry to much, keep your valuables safe and..... have a super time !

re: security in the rila hotel

I've just come back from Rila and I hired a safe for the pasports and cash (Just in Case!!) but the rest was left in the room and it was all fine.

We did have a situation on the last night in the Rila Nightclub tho (during the ski instructors presentation) where two women had their handbags robbed (one of em had 5 passports in em). Also some dodgy stuff was going on in the lobby where it looked like a load of dodgy gangster types where casing the place. I think they get you to feel ...

I think they get you to feel secure during the week and then strike on the last night, so be carefull. Oh and don't take any photos of the strppers/dancers either - one guy found out the hard way when the poledancer in the Rila Nightclub he'd just taken a photo of pounced on him and grabbed his camera.

It's a great holiday tho and a little bit of an eye opener for those country bumpkins like myself Smile

re: security in the rila hotel

had a nasty man in a hood shimmering across my window ledge at the hotel Moura, but the police caught him. Some people were broken into during the week though.

re: security in the rila hotel

Heard that someone had their room broken into on 2nd floor of Rila and they were robbed whilst they slept as their window was open!!!
Prob best to use a safety deposit box for your valuables tho!! Otherwise everyone said the Rila was great!
Stayed at Moura hotel -Jenny THAT was a very scary story!!!!!!
