they paid and got their passports back and rebooked flights for monday. i offered them my apartment for free until monday ..

my friend also said something interesting. "you have people in bulgaria who dont care how they get money and the majority who really want to do a good job for money, the secret to foreigners success in bulgaria is to be lucky not to meet the first kind"

No matter how you look at it, its theft !!!!
The stealing of passports is frowned upon, even by the BG authorities, in fact if reported to our embassy it will be acted on immediately, something to do with who actually owns the passports, ie, the crown...
Have to admire their gaul though, i suppose they found them did they ?? and were after a reward Wink

re: shocking

They should have just got an emergency passport from the embassy, and then replacements back home. would have cost more but at least the crooks would not have benefited!

if the builder is a recognised company or person in Samokov it would be worth naming them on here so that no one else falls into the same trap

They did the same with my A6 a few years back. I have met very few here who want to do a good job for money, very few.

Eyepaul,
You can keep coming on the forum promoting your apartment, management company and your builder friends, but it will not save the Bulgarians from the inevititable.
