re: shocking

I suppose the inevitable is inevitable, even inevittable ?? but what is it ?? . Will Bulgaria become like every other europeon country, especially the UK, autocratic goverments totally removed from the populace, where the people are overtaxed, overuled, overmonitored and save for a few who positions of power put them above all including the law, disregarded, ignored and considered worthless (until its time to vote !!)
Maybe inevitable, but lets hope not for a long time Cool

re: shocking

Well, Bulgarians may not be overtaxed, but I don't think anyone would disagree that their governments do nothing but line their own pockets in the most venal manner. British MPs get hauled over the coals for over claiming a few tens of thousands in expenses whilst Bulgarian MPs shamelessly use their positions to become millionaires. And from the population - silence. People, after all, get the politicians they deserve.....

Now, where were we?

BG will never ever become accountable (not that other Eu countries are 100%) because from top to bottom the disease is terminal.
Crime is on the increase,
even petty crime like at the beginning in the 90s.
calling older people and scaming them.
thefts are huge,
crime gangs are growing within the governement and can not be stopped ,
the attitude is :get rich quick and the hell with the rest.
education is slipping (more likely dropping like a stone)

Young people in the country have a no future,
drugs are increasing,
police is corrupt and using the powers just like the moderators on here .
The problems with others(Romas Turks etc are on the increase)
so with a future looking that bleak there is one thing you can all do:...............
fill yourselves the dotted space.

Ahhhhh Mikey, just like the home i remember Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Micky,
eyepaul hasen't crossed any lines with me at all but I just find the original post a bit hard to beleive and what makes it worse if it is true, that they paid the criminals money to have there passports returned.
In my way of thinking, by paying the crims means they will just do it again and possibly think, wow, that was easy money!.....next time we will ask 200 euro.!!!
Doh!

If they are to follow western policies then the population will soon all be treated as possible terrorists, drug dealers, thieves or worse Surprised, their movements monitored and recorded, their phone and e-mail observed, their bank accounts accessed. Their goverments will support widescale policing of other peoples countries at the bequest of a world power and send their young men and women to risk their lives. They will listen to constant propaganda through the media extolling the virtues of all that the goverments are doing in our name to protect us while all the time giving up more and more personal liberties and freedoms. It results in a population that is afraid to open its door, to speak to a stranger, even a neighbour...... Mikey, you constantly remind everyone of the financial folly of investing in Bulgaria and i feel personally that you are capable of making valid points, but life goes beyond money, it boils down to the quality of the life you want, the people you wish to spend that life with, and the people around you in whose community you live..... Cool
