In previous years, We have paid about 20 lev for a sim card and it has 15 lev of credit on it, Seems to last for ages when calling each other, texting each other and texting home. Just make sure your phone isnt locked to a single service provider. Contrary to popular belief you can get a contract phone unlocked and use a local sim for pay as you go
i payed 8Lev in Bansko for sim. included 100mins and texts to a dedicated phone number on same provider(so good if 2parties going together to keep in touch) also 10lev worth of credit to all other numbers. phone does have to be unlocked. i have always had cintract phone but they have always taken any sim. check before you come out.
Ski Bean........ the answer is no, the bulgarian sim cards have a bulgarian phone numbers so they start with the bulgarian code..........which is (I seem to remember) +359
