Im off to pamporovo in 2 weeks time, and is the 3rd time ski. My wife is a keen runner (sub 3hr 15 mins for a marathon) and finds the hire boots a pain, problems with numb foot and pins/needles in the foot, I think that she has muscle legs/ calfs. Im thinking of purchasing a pair of boots, whats the best option, get them in the uk or at the resort, if resort whats the best place and should I take cash (LEV or £)?
If you get them out there Try loads of different shops and different pairs, Sounds like she wants to err on the side of comfort so if you have time to get them in uk Then can i recomment the Nordica Easymove. They do not do them in Bulgaria, they are a ladies boot and have loads of adjustment for the different ladies size calf. Dont take my word for it though, just find a ski shop that supplies Nordica among others and ask for a pair of boots! Just to give you an idea of price, Carolines ...

Happy hunting
Plenty of good boot shops in Pamps, but if I were you I would go to the UK first and get her to try loads on before you go, so she has an idea of what make/model she is looking for.
I had a posting on here many weeks ago about burning sole and the feedback I got was great.
I bought a pair of Rossignal last year from Snow & Rock, had foot beds made, and went for half a days ski-ing at christmas in them they were pure agony.

From the advice I got on here I went back to Snow and Rock and they fitted me out with a brand new pair of Saloman - admitted they had fitted and sold me the complete wrong pair of boots.
because you may not be able to understand as well the Bulgarians who work in the shops you should invest in an afternoon at a good ski shop in the UK to find out exactly what you are loooking for before you go.
There is Salamon - Rossinal and Atomic shops in Pamps so you should be fine wiating till you get there.
There is also a good website for a shop in Sheffield called Sportmobility at Dronfield they do on line ordering and are cheaper than Snow & Rock, my boots were £40 cheaper from them so I got £40 back with Snow & Rock due to price promise.
