ski exercises

My husband has told me that a good exercise to prepare for skiing is to stand on one leg for few minutes and then to stand on the other.

He says that this will help improve my balance and strengthen my muscles and I need to do this for about six weeks before we go to Boro.

Is he right or is he only pulling my leg -LOL

re: ski exercises

Gentle squats (45 degrees of knee bend-no more or it stresses the joint) are what you need to do, plus mentioned on a different post here, put you back to a door/wall and bend knees to 45 degrees and hold for 10 seconds, do this as much as poss before you go, it WILL pay off.
Any other advice anyone??

re: ski exercises

Been doing that but not as often as standing on one leg, as squatting not so easy. I suppose that's because squatting is making me use the muscels I haven't used since last years skiing.
