does anyone know if helemts are compulsory in bansko. and whether your can arrange to hire them in resort or if u have to bring them with you.

Helmets are not compulsory anywhere in Bulgaria - just strongly advisable.

Hi,
I am an advanced ski er. Thinking of buying a helmet for me and my doughter for next season. Can anybode give advice ; what's a good helmet. Does anyone know if there are "tests' available ( where ? )

the best helmet is a comfortable one, because unless you are happy with the comfort you wont bother using it. You wont need a 'race specific' one, so just try some out.
I know Ellis Brigham have considerably upped their order for this year some 26000 i believe!! as long as it has CE mark you should be fine

go to one of the ski shows coming up, its your best bet of getting loads to try on and help with fitting, the london show will have Ellis Brigham and Snow and Rock, as well as other stores

A couple of helmets around £30-£40 range at these sites
I wore a helmet first time this year and found it comfortable and warm, and with the extra bonus I could strap my small video camera to it.
