I've just spoken to a rep at crystal about ski packages in borovets and was told the following: Separate hire of equipment / lift pass costs as follows

lift pass = £56
skis=£39
boots=£25
tuition=£71

Alternatively there is a 'learn to ski' package for beginners for £96 including all the above plus 4 hours per day tuition. I'm no rocket scientist but the package comes in at £21 under getting a pass and equipment separately. Can anyone tell me whether there is an intermediate package available or if the groups are split up into beginners and intermediate when you get out there anyway?

Last year we found the groups really good and flexible. Kids went into ski school and wife and I went into beginners. After a couple of days I found I was doing better than expected (I had skied but not for about ten years) and they were happy to put me in with another intermediate group. Also kids got a bit fed up with ski school and our beginners instructor was happy to take them into the group (we did ask the others in the group if they were OK first), kids ended up skiing better than a couple of the adults. So yep, you do get graded but they are pretty flexible and easy going.
