sli instructors

If I have four children, aged 5, 6, 8 and 11 booked into ski school, what are the possibilites of them being taught together. I am aware that the younger two should be in kindergarten, but as none have skied before I am concerned about keeping them together. We are going to Borovets. Any advise greatly appreciated.

re: sli instructors

Ability, not age is the point. If they are all beginners, I'm sure they will be allowed to ski in the same class. Speak to the ski school; after all, you are on holiday, it's not a military camp. Hope they and you enjoy it.

Just replied under your previous posting re: kindergarten.

You will be able to keep the children together and I would advise that you do and then the 2 older ones can look out for the younger 2 especially at lunch time - sallopettes and loos can be tricky for a 5 year old if you get where I'm coming from.

If Airtours have said you can use ski school then go for it - they will learn much more and quicker.

Again I hope this helps

One more thing - under 7's don't need ski lift passes so you probably won't be issued them for the younger 2. They slip past the gates. It's easier if they've got them but don't worry if they haven't.

re: sli instructors

Mal me again. I've posted the following uner yesterdays query!!

Ellie Razz

When are you going??

If it is next week - half term then you will struggle to get them into smaller groups as basically all the instructors are required as it is the busiest week in resort.

With regards to staying together that is not a problem - or shouldn't be. Be organised the first morning and up and ready to go and the choice of the instructors will be greater. If you wander out at 12 noon then ...

With 4 children and 3 of them considered younger see if the mix of that class can be that way. There are usually a maximum of 12 to a group and I think 2 instructors for the children although I may be wrong on that account.

Your other option and this is the one I took last year is to ski as a family. If you and the other adults in your party are all beginners then that is a great way to do it! Last year I repeated the beginners class and my hubby went off with an intermediate group but joined us for 2 days which meant I could have a go on some more adventurous slopes.
Also he was knackered by the pace of his group!!

I was put with my 2 kids with 2 other families with children. This worked brilliantly because we were all able to look out for each other - adults and kids a like. I had adult company and they had children of similar ages for them to play with.

Bulgaria is very flexible. Ask and you usually get. You may find that Airtours are unwilling to help you but once kitted out and on the slopes have a word with the instructors sorting out the groups - thye are the one's making the decisions not your travel reps.

I really hope this info helps and ask again if you want to know more. In the meantime try not to worry otherwise you will be burnt out before you get ther!!

re: sli instructors

Thanks Ellie,
You have put my mind at rest. My husband and myself have skied before but about 10years ago, so we will probably ask to stay with the kids. It will make for much more of a family holiday then.
Cheer again

Have a great holiday!

re: sli instructors

Glad I could help. At the end of the day we make decisions which we hope will be right for our particualr circumstances. If you're not happy after a few days then you can always have a re-think.

Have fun
