at the airport now waitin for the plane home! skiied this morning though and hammered the slopes it was great.conditions are perfect and staying cold so no signs of new snow thawing.
Whilst we were out in Pamprovo, the conditions completely changed overnight. The slopes at the top were crap when we first got there, exposed tarmac and dirt was causing all sorts of incidents on the green run. As a result most beginner groups were at the bottom of the mountain on the nursery slopes by the ski school or at the mid station. I was a complete beginner and my first run on the green had me skiing over large icy patches.

Then one night it starts raining in the resort. Everyone went to bed depressed because it was 4 degrees at 3am and still raining. We wake up and what was left of the snow outside has been destroyed. Sliding to the shuttle bus we make our way to ski school. "We still ski today!" says the ski instructor, I'm like WTF it's going to be really dangerous, but I go along with it anyway because I'd always wanted to try water skiing.
Skiing down to the three man chairlift in those conditions was the most deflating part of the holiday. We get on the chairlift and it's still raining, then we cast out eyes towards the tower atop the mountain. It's shrouded by a thick fog and isn't visible like the day before, as we move up the mountain the trees in the distance are covered in snow and a blanket of fresh snow lies at their base. We get off the chairlift and everyone is much happier and the conditions are blizzard-like, freezing cold, howling winds and loads of snow.
At the end of the day it got colder at the bottom and in the resort, this froze all of the water at the ski school making it dangerous for beginners to ski on. At the end of the week, the state of the top and bottom of the mountain had completely flipped, where it was first safe to learn to ski had turned to a treacherous nightmare for beginners and where at the start of the week everyone had been scared of the ice, the conditions were perfect for learning.
Will do! Let's see if I can keep up with my 7 year old this year. It was a struggle at 6, so you should be able to identify me as that bloke skiing a little bit faster than his abilities chasing said gromet.
