snow cannons?

Off to borovets on saturday and have noticed that the temps are dropping, just wondered if the snow cannons would be used or is everyone just throwing in the towel and calling an end to the season??

Also can anyone tell us where the ski depot is for neilsons, staying at the samokov and have got our own boots just wondering if to wear them to and from the depot or carry them and change when we get there?

many thanx........fleety and co

re: snow cannons?

i can answer .....your station will be at the foot of the gondola which is just across the road from your hotel..you can easily walk in your boots plus there are lots of bars on the way so you can always call in for a swifty if the feet hurt...that was my excuse anyway....let me give you the most important bit of advice and that is to book a massage in your hotel with a nice young man called Mitko...amazing hands!! worth more than the 30 lev it will cost you Very Happy

re: snow cannons?

hmm...its been mega warm all last week...we were all suntanned Very Happy dont think its cold enough for cannons but not needed on the top as the snow is still good....i would advise against skiing on the bottom runs as they were mega icy and once you hit the ice it was difficult to stop and lots of people on them so thought it was dangerous Very Happy

Big Fleety

I was watching “BBC World News” one day before breakfast in the Samokov and I learnt that the Snow Cannons do NOT work unless the temperature is below Zero…

The skiing at the top was brilliant and we could just about ski all of the way back down to the bottom.

I hope you have more snow as it is disappearing fast while we were there and I think you will have to get the Gondola back down by the time you get there.

Have a good one and take plenty of Sun Tan cream ...
