snow conditions in march

Hi,
a few of us have book a ski trip to pamporovo leaving the 6th of march for a week. has anyone been in march before and what at the snow conditions like..none of us have been skiing before so new to this..

went that week this season just gone on a cheap one!

Had snowed the night before our arrival and then snowed lightly on 3 or 4 of the days!

Think they had a really poor start to the season last year and we got lucky in March, its impossible to say how it’ll be for you in 2010 but for us it was fine


Some nice sunny days aswell



I’d been to Tignes in France a month beforehand and if anything had too much snow there and poor visibility!

So to sum up, in March 09 on bout ...

So to sum up, in March 09 on bout the 7th I thought the conditions were just fine, , had small top ups, the 2 new runs last season hadnt been prepped properly as I don’t think they’d finished them so they weren’t great but the rest of the runs were all good!

Best way to save money in the evenings, buy the biggest bottle of local beer from the local supermarket, it worked out to only be £1.50 for this beast

Forgot to add, on our week, 7th March 09 we had no lift ques at all

I was able to board right to the lifts and just hop straight on without having to que at all, I think the longest I had to que all week was about 2 minutes but most of the time there just wasn’t anyone waiting

Been that time of the year twice. first time the snow was brill low temps. The second time very hot and the snow was slushy and patchy lower down.

Early March in Pamporovo can be a bit hit and miss, I have had loads of snow and not very much. You may want to look at Borovets or Bansko both higher resorts.
