snow fall in january - help!

Hello guys,
i was just wondering about snowfall in Borovets in early january, is there always good snow or is it sparce at this time of the year.
I was in Bor last year in Feb and was lucky to get fresh snow falling. An instructor said that they had no snow in january 2010 so if any one can help me out with experience of january skiing, please do.

Snow has been very unpredictable in Bulgaria over the last few years and the main falls have come much later in the season than that of several years ago.
Personally I would leave it until late January - early February, but then who can tell what the weather will do in 3 months time?
