snow in Bansko

We have booked for 8 people from the 18th till 26th of december,but we are getting worried now as there is not 1mm of snow yet.Are there any canons for snow making and what is the best they can do,in other words are we going snowboarding or rockboarding!!!!!!!aouuch

It's not looking too good at the moment Kostas, and snow cannon can only be used if the temps are perfect for them. They spray water droplets into the air that freeze instantly and fall as snow, but unless it is between -3 to -7 they will not function. Too warm and the droplets will not freeze. Too cold and they just form as ice.

Still time for you, and the snow record for Bansko is excellent, so keep everything X'ed and we are all praying for you.

someone said its gonna snow for the 20th so with any luck u should be ok.

Hiya,

I just read about the way the cannons work and remarked to my hubby "hey thats funny I thought they just spat snow out" he laughed, then when i think about it its sily that a snow cannon would spit out snow, cos there would have to be some to fill them up with before they could spit it out eh?

Detailed resort forecasts now update every 6 hours. Maps are updated every 12 hours. The current day 6 forecast shows the first signs of the European Anticyclone being displaced by a cold and snowy NW airstream that should be fully established by Saturday December 18th. The north side of the Alps, the Jura and the Black Forest Resorts will see the new snow first.

i dont know this helps you but it sounds good
