There is a lot of snow at the moment and according to metcheck's 7 day forecast there is supposed to be snow next week, however it is going to get much warmer next week so I guess there is a risk the snow may turn to rain which would be a disaster.
Looking at it I think we would have to be very unlucky for all that snow to melt. Just have to keep our fingers crossed!

the forcast is to get much warmer next week BUT staying dry no rain next 10 days or snow. in sofia next week is to get 18 to 21 degres so get your shorts on your glasses on and a pint cold beer . website is Accweather.com and never far wrong sorry
A couple of points that will hopefully allay any fears..
1) snow cover as it is at the moment acts like a giant refridgerator, even south facing slopes which get all the sun will remain as the sun only manages to penetrate the top few centimeters, the bulk will remain frozen from the body of snow underneath..
2) Altitude effects temperature, approximately one degree colder per 1000 ft, it could be 8 - 10 degrees in the village, just above freezing on the mountain, the nights also will see ...

I skied for many seasons in the French Alps as late as mid June, on one occasion an air temperature of near 27 degrees was recorded in the village whilst we skied in t-shirts on the mountain.
The biggest eroder of snow is torrential rain but even this at higher altitudes falls as snow. Yes, eventually the snow will disappear but local opinion is that there will be snow till mid May. The worst scenario for the next couple of weeks is that it may get a bit slushy late afternoon on the lower slopes returning to the village..
