I know most of you guys on here are very loyal to bulgaria and i think thats great however is it worth paying for your holiday and spending the next few weeks worrying about possibly having no snow.i think Bulgaria is a great place but i go on my holiday to ski and i guess my question is would you be happy to go to bulgaria again with the real possibility of having no snow again over going somewhere with a better snow record at the same cost.
Just interested thats all.

re: snow sure resorts

I would be an advocate of going to more snow sure locations as i get one-two weeks max skiing a year, and i aim to spend those days skiing as much as possible. For my second ski trip last year i visited borovets and the snow was awful (start march) so was pretty gutted. Im in france in jan and not sure where my second trip will be. If bulgaria has good snow mite return but trips to the alps can work out at the same price so it'll be a tough choice

Well, maybe I have been very lucky with really good snow conditions in Bansko, for the past two years I used it as my second weeks snowboarding holiday but this year Bulgaria will be my only weeks winter holiday, a choice made by the fab conditions I was lucky to have last mid/late March. I have decided on early Jan but will keep a keen eye on the snow and maybe at the last minute change if conditions are poor, fingers crossed it could might be a good year. Cost wise Bulgaria wins but only ...

I suppose that it depends what level skier/boarder you are. For someone who doesn't ski off-piste then it is less of a concern than advanced skiers/boarders who seek out the fresh powder and general off-piste terrain as the pisted terrain usually has snow cannons to keep the snow topped up.

For me, I really enjoy skiing powder at the moment and will always try and book my ski holiday at a time when the odds of their been good snow conditions are better. I have enjoyed quite a few ...

For me, I really enjoy skiing powder at the moment and will always try and book my ski holiday at a time when the odds of their been good snow conditions are better. I have enjoyed quite a few off-piste and powder days in Bansko, so I guess that it doesn't matter if it is Bulgaria or the alps because good snow conditions is good snow conditions. Obviously, Bulgaria doesn't offer the kind of mileage that somewhere like Tignes or similar can offer but there is still enough to keep everyone happy when the conditions are good.

If you are lucky enough to be able to take your ski holiday at very short notice then you can always follow the good snow conditions but that will usually cost you quite a bit more.
This winter I will be spending my ski holiday somewhere that is a freak of nature where everyday (literally!) is a powder day, but that has come a hefty price but it is a price that I am comfortable spending because of my obsession for powder (and having saved for a long time!).

For other people who aren't overly bothered if the snow conditions are less than ideal and instead see it as just another holiday then I guess they will be happy enough just being on holiday.
