snowboar gear!

I am going to Bansko 4th of feb & Im looking to buy some new gear for this season (softgoods & hardgoods), as this is my first time in Bulgaria please could someone tell me if they think its worth waiting until im out there to do my snowboard shopping?
Anyone know:
- Are there many shops
- Do the shops have a good variety
- Do they shops sell the same kind of main brands as they do in the uk
- (most importantly) will I be saving lots of money?

Hello mateI'm goin to bansko on the 24th feb and hav herd its very cheap. i went to borovets last year and the gear was really cheap.
I've been told if you get your instructor to come and help you, you can get even more discount!! I'll be buying a new board and bindings when i go!

Hi Nathan,Have you tried Ebay? There is a shop on there called Winter Shack, and although they sell a lot of clothes I have seen boards and boots going for less than half price. They are nearly all auctions, but for brand new stuff.

Hi Nathan,The golden rule of buying skis or a snowboard is try before you buy.
Loads of places to buy gear in Bansko. Most of the brands you can get in the UK you will be able to get in Bansko. You should save money if you hunt around.
When you get there, pop into some shops, explain that you are wanting to buy but want to demo first and they should look after you.
