Just got back from bansko, had a brilliant time.I remember a question was asked a while back if you could carry your snowboard on the chairlifts in Bansko, the answer is yes (much to my delight)

Hiya Lisa, yes Bansko was fantastic! We stayed in an appartment by the Chateau Hotel (just a bit further down the road from the Perun). Would definitely recommend if you're eating out to head to the old town where there's loads of traditional Mehanas, food is excellent (mainly pork, chicken or veal), try "Kavarma", it's a traditional dish that's a bit like a hot pot. The Lion's pub near the gondola does nice cheese burgers and has sky TV. Menu's have veggie options also.

Hiya Lisa, yes Bansko was fantastic! We stayed in an appartment by the Chateau Hotel (just a bit further down the road from the Perun). I stayed on the baby slope with the button lift most of the time, mainly because we were converting 2 skiers to snowboarding, was better than I remembered it and we "fine tuned" our snowboarding, other half learnt how to do 360 spins. When I did brave the chairlift to the left of the gondola I was made up to find that you could carry your snowboard on, there were quite a few others carrying them aswell. When you get off at the top be prepared to run out of the way of the lift though! Head to the right when you get off the chairlift (left is a red run) and you'll see an area at the side where all the snowboarders sit to strap back in, then head down the slope to Shiligarnika.
If you try the ski road home on a snowboard, leave yourself plenty of time as there's quite a few flat bits and you get really tired (I realised how unfit I am!) I sat on my board and bumboarded the last half!!
Run 10 is meant to be quite good but after my attempt of the ski road I was aching and had no energy left to try it.
