hi all,
last year we flu back from plovdiv and shocked that no duty free shop in sight.
Is that the same for Sofia or is it more up to date?

Sofia is a good bit better. It has a few duty free shops after you pass through check in.

re: sofia airport

Sofia is the equivalent in size to something like Luton - Plovdiv is an old military airfield, not geared up for the commercial market.

Sofia has your basic drink, fags and cosmetics with a few bits of electricals - don't go expecting to buy an i-pod. There are also scome stores where you can get traditional bulgarian goods too.
