Gidday All,
I'm looking to head back to Bansko next Jan but my other half has desided that she doesn't want to go sking next year. I was wondering what it's like to travel there alone.
You may want to make contact with Steve C. He will also be travelling alone to Bansko and is looking for someone to share a room with but I believe he is looking to go a bit later ie Feb/March. You could try e-mailing him though just in case.
Hi Kiwi1...
How you goin mate, got to Bansko eventually after some cock-up in the booking that ended up with me going a month later than was planned, got an upgrade and flight from a local airport so it was not a complete loss....
The problems that i can see from travelling solo is like i experienced, you seem to be the one who gets messed around, on top of that there are the supplements, the holiday can end up costing about a third more than a half of a couple...

As for being alone in resort, you ain`t for long. The popular bars (Happy End, Lion Pub etc) are well frequented, at the end of the day we all have something in common, its always pretty easy to start a conversation, also a lot of the instructors go out in the evenings, stand them for a few drinks (its so cheap) and you are away....
Have not really decided when i will be going next year, we could keep in touch as i will definately be travelling solo next season, my girlfriend hates skiing...
Like Val said, my chosen months would be Feb or March but who knows, its always a last minute thing with me anyway....
Thanks Steve.
I'm not fussed about the date either so keep in touch. I'd be happy to share an appartment or somthing to keep the costs down.
Cheers

In the absence of any 'adult' company to go skiing with I went to Bansko for the first time last year with just my 5 yr old son. Had a great time - met some nice people in ski school and had no probs keeping ourselves occupied generally in the hotel but I am sure would be fine "out and about" in the resort generally.
